About the Customer

The customer is a legal services firm with over 50 lawyers and more than 400 clients. They specialize in handling contracts and legal cases, providing comprehensive legal services to their clients.

The Challenge

The firm faced a significant challenge in managing the categorization, analysis, and communication of over 4000 legal documents they receive monthly. This task generated a substantial workload, requiring a more efficient solution to handle the volume of documents.

The Solution

The solution leverages AWS Bedrock and AWS Textract to automatically extract and classify legal documents into three predefined categories.

The core workflow, orchestrated through AWS Step Functions, customizes data classification according to client requirements and specific legal terminology, utilizing Anthropic models such as Sonnet.

The system connects directly to the court’s website to retrieve newly published documents on a daily basis. These are processed within the AWS environment, with results delivered via email and stored in an Amazon S3 bucket for download and case-by-case legal work.

This architecture enables seamless processing of large datasets while maintaining strict data integrity, robust security, and optimal performance.

Outcomes

The implementation of the AI solution resulted in significant improvements in operational efficiency. The time required for document processing was reduced from 6-8 hours to just 20-30 minutes . This allowed the firm to handle a larger volume of documents with greater accuracy and speed, ultimately enhancing their service delivery to clients .
